Member rates are a benefit of ACVIM membership. To qualify, you must be a member at the time of registration. Registration fees do not include any travel or hotel/housing costs. One and two day registrations are only eligible to attend education sessions as well as social events and the exhibit hall on the day(s) purchased. 

To qualify for the student registration category, you must be a full-time student.

To qualify for the resident, intern or 1st year graduate category, you must be a full time resident or intern or just have graduated within the past 12 months.

Any retired veterinarian, at least 65 years old, qualifies for this registration category. 

You do not have to be an ACVIM member for these categories. 

Guest registrations are valid for individuals accompanying 2017 ACVIM Forum attendees with full registration. This registration fee category does not include attendance at the educational session offerings. Continuing education credit is not available for this registration fee category.

Guest registration includes admission to the exhibit hall, Keynote Session and receptions on Thursday and Friday. Guest registrations are not intended to be used for attendance by multiple people from the same practice.

Only interested in making connections inside the exhibit hall? ACVIM offers a one-day exhibit hall pass to access the hall. All exhibit hall passes can only be purchased on site at the registration desk at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center only. Exhibit hall passes are not intended to be used for suitcasing our exhibit hall. Non-exhibiting companies are not allowed to distribute materials or samples or promote their company in any way to attendees or exhibitors throughout the entire conference area. Exhibiting companies may only distribute any type of marketing material from their designated booth space.

All cancellations must be submitted in writing to the ACVIM at Cancellations postmarked by May 17, 2017 are entitled to a full refund, less a $100 cancellation fee. NO REFUNDS OR CREDITS will be issued after May 17, 2017.

CE Credits

Veterinarians are eligible to earn up to 42.5 CE hours over the course of the conference.

The Veterinary Technician program allows Techs to earn up to 37 hours of continuing education over the course of the conference.

The 2017 ACVIM Forum content has been created to meet the requirements of the Texas Veterinary Licensing Act mandated by the 79th Legislature and adopted by the Texas Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners relating to verifying continuing education credit for Texas-licensed veterinarians.

The 2017 ACVIM Forum content has been created to meet the requirements for continuing education from the New York State Board of Veterinary Medicine.

RACE Approved
This program 572-29543 is approved by the AAVSB RACE to offer a total of 481.00 CE Credits (42.50 max) being available to any one veterinarian and/or 504.00 Veterinary Technician CE Credits (37.00 max). This RACE approval is for the subject matter categories of:

Category One: Scientific
Category Two: Non-Scientific-Clinical
Category Three: Non-Scientific-Practice Management/Professional Development using the delivery method of Seminar/Lecture.

This approval is valid in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE; however, participants are responsible for ascertaining each board's CE requirements. RACE does not "accredit" or "endorse" or "certify" any program or person, nor does RACE approval validate the content of the program.

Child Care

Child care services will be provided through KiddieCorp. The children’s program will be available at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, Wednesday, June 7, 7:30 am-6:00 pm, Thursday and Friday, June 8-9, 7:45 am-6:30 pm, and Saturday, 7:45 am-5:00 pm.

Advance registration MUST be made no later than Wednesday, May 10, 2017. The cost is $15/hour per child. Register early as availability is limited and handled on a first-come, first-served basis.

Experient Housing is our Official Housing Provider for the 2017 ACVIM Forum. The American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine has worked diligently with the hotels in National Harbor to establish room blocks for attendees and exhibitors. Improper solicitation of hotel reservations from any company of housing provider other than Experient is not approved by the ACVIM. Reservations made by unaffiliated organizations may appear to be for lower rates; however they may be illegitimate, have unreasonable cancellation or charge penalties, or be completely non-refundable. All rates are based on single/double occupancy and do not include state and local taxes. Please be aware of, and report, any unauthorized solicitation to the ACVIM.


Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA) is conveniently located less than 20 minutes from National Harbor by car, shuttle bus, or taxi. It is the preferred airport to fly into for easy access to the National Harbor area.

Other surrounding airport options include:
Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport – BWI (Approximately 42 miles away from the National Harbor).
Washington Dulles International Airport – IAD (Approximately 35 miles away from National Harbor).

National Harbor, MD is conveniently located just outside of Washington DC with a variety of transportation options. 

SuperShuttle is a shuttle service serving most National Harbor hotels. To access SuperShuttle at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (and other shared ride services), proceed to the baggage claim area of Terminal A, B, or C and visit the Shuttle counter to speak with a uniformed Customer Services Representative. Shuttles operate based on demand. For information or to schedule service, call 1-800-BLUEVAN or go to the SuperShuttle website. After hours, call 1-800-258-3826 and press 1 for dispatch or 2 for reservations. Use code GNR50 for a discount. Advance reservations are required.

The Washington, DC Metrorail system has an elevated Metrorail station connected to the concourse level of Terminals B and C at the DCA Airport. Rail service runs to Alexandria, VA and additional transportation services are required from that location to reach the Gaylord National Resort.  

Taxicabs are readily available and provide service to the National Harbor area and surrounding counties. Check with your taxicab company of choice (or with your driver at the airport) for more information on fares and destinations served. Please ensure they accept credit cards prior to departure if that is your preferred method of payment.
All taxicabs dispatched at Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport must have and use taxi meters. Schedule of rates issued by the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Commission can be found on the airport website.
Taxi cabs pick-up and drop-off can be found from any terminal Baggage Claim through the doors to the curbside where taxi lines are clearly marked.

Payment is completely cashless and estimates are available. Pricing may range from $18-$69 depending on peak times and types of vehicles selected.
No National Harbor hotels provide courtesy shuttle service to and from the airport.

On-airport rental car counters are located on the first floor in Terminal Garage A at the Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport.
Water taxi service is available to and from Old Town Alexandria, Georgetown, Nationals Stadium and historic Mount Vernon. Pricing is approximately $16 one way. Water taxis run on a pre-set arrival and departure schedule. For schedules and to purchase tickets, click here.
