Consider expanding your career by becoming an ACVIM veterinary specialist. You can learn more about exciting opportunities in internal medicine by joining an ACVIM student chapter, attending the ACVIM Forum and exploring animal owner pages on this website.

Since 1972, the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) has been advancing the practice of internal veterinary medicine through the exciting and innovative work of ACVIM Board-certified specialists. The ACVIM is a veterinary specialty college that provides education, residency training and certification of internal medicine specialists (called Diplomates).

The college establishes requirements, evaluates and accredits residency training programs, and handles examinations and certification for veterinarians in five specialties.

CONGRATULATIONS TO STUDENTS WHO RECEIVED VETERINARY STUDENT TRAVEL AWARDS
Five veterinary students were selected to receive $500 to help offset travel expenses to the 2016 ACVIM Forum.
