If you are a ACVIM Candidate interested in relocating to a new Residency Training Program because you are in an unsafe situation in your current program due to its location or other factors, we are here to help you navigate that transition. The steps below are outlined to clarify the process.

  1. Discuss potentially needing to relocate programs with your mentor if you are comfortable doing so. You can also reach out to your specialty ombudsperson and/or Finn Ruehrdanz, Senior Certification & Accreditation Specialist, for support in starting the conversation. 2. Identify a new mentor. Your mentor, your specialty ombuds, and Finn Ruehrdanz are all resources in helping you identify a new mentor.
