One highly recommended self-care strategy is to use daily affirmations or mantras to replace or interrupt negative thoughts and assist in regulating your breathing and heart rate. Choose a few words or phrases that are meaningful to you to repeat throughout the day to help reroute your thinking and re-center yourself.
