Pre-Approved Journals

INSTRUCTIONS FOR PUBLICATIONS SUBMITTED FOR MAINTENANCE OF CREDENTIALS

An acceptable publication must be relevant to the specialty discipline of the Diplomate seeking re-certification. If a publication is not in English, it is the Diplomate’s responsibility to provide an independent English translation of the article.

The publication must be in a refereed scientific, medical or veterinary medical journal. A refereed journal is one that is governed by policies and procedures established and maintained by a standing editorial board which requires critical review of all papers and approval by at least one recognized authority on the subject.

This list will be updated annually, as warranted based on changes in journal availability, editorial process, impact factor, and quality of review. If a Diplomate has published a manuscript in a journal that is not currently on the Acceptable Journals list, the Diplomate may submit that publication to the Specialty MOCC for review and determination of acceptability towards maintenance of credentials.
