Course Overview

This webinar will cover the history of hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), including prevalence data, risk stratification and outcomes. We will explore how to screen for and diagnose the disease. The presentation will include a discussion of treatment options for patients with clinical signs and an exciting new treatment option for subclinical pets.

Learning Objectives

  1. Describe the prevalence and explain how HCM is diagnosed.
  2. Understand the lifetime risks of cardiac events in a population of cats with HCM.
  3. Gain an understanding of treatment options for clinical patients and the mechanism of Felicyn-CA1.

Dr. Bell graduated from the University of Georgia in 2009 and completed a rotating internship at NC State University the following year. After a year in emergency practice in Pittsburgh, she joined the cardiology team at the University of Missouri, finishing a cardiology internship followed by a joint cardiology residency and Master of Veterinary Science program in 2015.
