Approved Residency Training Programs
New RTP Application Instructions:
New applications for ACVIM Residency Training Programs must be received by the Residency Training Committee 90 days prior to any residents beginning training. Before completing this form, please review the general and specific requirements for SAIM Residency Training Programs in the ACVIM Certification Manual (CM). The most current version of the CM is available on the ACVIM website at ACVIM.org, and is linked above. If there is a discrepancy between the registration form(s) and the CM, the CM will be considered correct; however, please contact the ACVIM office or the Residency Training Committee Chairperson for clarification. After reviewing the CM, please contact Certification@ACVIM.org to begin the registration process.
RTP Renewal Instructions:
The 2025–2026 RTP renewal submission deadline is March 7, 2025. Please review the general and specific requirements for SAIM RTPs in the ACVIM Certification Manual (CM). The most current version of the CM is available on the ACVIM website at ACVIM.org, and is linked above. If there is a discrepancy between the registration form(s) and the CM, the CM is considered correct; however, contact the ACVIM office or the Residency Training Committee Chairperson for clarification.

Notice: Prior to making significant changes in an RTP, approval of the ACVIM and Cardiology Residency Training Committee must be obtained. The Candidate and/or Program Director must notify ACVIM, in writing. Significant changes could include, but are not limited to: changes in Program Director or advisors, transferring from one program to another, alterations in program duration, locations of secondary site training, or enrolling in an institutional graduate program.
